K11 Art Village Residency Concludes Second Phase with Four Artists Exploring Wuhan's Urban Landscape
At K11 art village in Wuhan, four emerging artists concluded a two-month residency focused on local landscapes and communities. Pongyu Wai, an artist from Hainan residing in Hong Kong, crafted a 213 x 366 cm scroll filled with ballpoint-pen drawings that narrate local tales. Lin Zhu, originally from Ningbo and based in Shanghai, repurposed discarded objects from an old factory dormitory into 'micromemorials' reflecting urban change. The artist duo Emanuele Dainotti and Roel Heremans delved into contemporary Chinese sci-fi and examined children's games. This residency, organized by K11 Group and ArtReview, offers studio-living spaces and outreach initiatives. Pongyu Wai's work will feature in 'Boundless Reverie' at K11 MUSEA in Hong Kong from March 26 to May 19, 2024, alongside Coco Ho and Gerry Li. A new group commenced projects in January.
