K11 and ArtReview residency concludes with five artists exploring identity, mythology, and digital spaces in Wuhan
The K11 Group × ArtReview Artist-in-Residence programme has concluded its residency for five emerging artists at the K11 art village in Wuhan. Tianyi Zheng hosted a two-day workshop that examined the links between her hometown Mulan and the legendary figure of Mulan. Chris Ro developed large-scale artworks and animations inspired by conversations with residents of Wuhan. Satoshi Fujiwara enhanced his project 'Traceability in the Extended Matrix' with visual content sourced from online research. Frank Wang Yefeng created 'Pantheon of Octopi', utilizing diverse media to interrogate diasporic experiences, and co-facilitated a workshop focused on facial recognition. Additionally, Zoë Marden led a workshop with local musicians centered on posthuman feminism. This year-long programme provides artists with studio-living accommodations and outreach initiatives.
