Justin McGuirk named chief curator of London's Design Museum
Justin McGuirk has been named the chief curator of the Design Museum in London, where he will manage the opening program for the museum's new site in Kensington, scheduled to launch in late 2016. In addition to this role, he has recently taken charge of the writing and curating program at Design Academy Eindhoven and maintains his position as director of Strelka Press. Previously, McGuirk served as a design critic for The Guardian, editor of Icon magazine, and design consultant for Domus. Notably, he co-curated an exhibition with Urban Think Tank that received the Golden Lion at the 2012 Venice Biennale of Architecture. His book, 'Radical Cities: Across Latin America in Search of a New Architecture,' is published by Verso.
