Jusoor Design Collections at Milan Design Week 2026 Bridges Saudi and International Design
During Milan Design Week 2026, Jusoor Design Collections debuted at Pinacoteca di Brera, presenting five Saudi designers paired with three international collaborators. Curated by Samer Yamani and commissioned by Saudi Arabia's Architecture & Design Commission, the exhibition explores cross-cultural exchange through material experimentation. Featured works include Muotaz Abbas and Klove Studio's 'Thanoon' lighting object inspired by desert plants, Aseel Alamoudi's 'Takween' table lamps combining sandstone, glass, and steel, Abeer AlRabiah and Albandari Sulaiman's 'CORA Collection' with Iwan Maktabi using coral-inspired woven carpets, and Saud Alsaleh's 'TAH Bookshelf' with Lagranja Design, a spiral structure reframing reading as non-linear. The exhibition resists presenting a fixed Saudi design identity, instead highlighting unresolved dialogues across Riyadh, New Delhi, Kathmandu, and Barcelona.
