Junk Corvetto Playground: Milan's Architecture Festival for Children
A proposal for a permanent architecture festival aimed at children, named Junk Corvetto Playground, has emerged in the Corvetto district of Milan. This initiative seeks to convert the area into a vibrant educational and cultural center, capitalizing on its significant youth population (up to 20% aged 0-9) and extensive public areas, such as the 37-hectare Parco della Vettabbia. Selected under the "Scuola dei Quartieri #Avviso2" initiative, it is pending approval. The project was developed by Marianna Frangipane and Egidio Giurdanella, both recent architecture graduates and members of Terzo Paesaggio. Collaborators include various local organizations and universities. Activities will focus on service learning, including a summer camp and workshops, promoting environmental awareness and community improvement among children.
