June Art Fair Returns to Basel Bunker with Focused Gallery Collaboration
The June Art Fair celebrated its sixth edition at Riehenstrasse 90b in Basel, curated by Christian Andersen, John Riepenhoff, Jeffrey Rosen, and Esperanza Rosales. Established in 2019, this fair has become a key event during Basel art week, prioritizing community and sophistication with a select number of member galleries. Highlights included paintings by Gabriel Hartley, Shaun Gladwell's video Libertas Vanitas (2019–2023), and artworks from Lin May Saeed, Kaoru Arima, and Margaret Lee. Additional participants were Cento, PHD Group, and VI, VII. A conceptual artwork by Henrik Plenge Jakobsen featured toilet paper emblazoned with the word 'Angst'. The fair remains free, offering an alternative to larger commercial events and spotlighting emerging artists.
