Jun Terra Leads Shadow Puppet Workshop Exploring Artists for Democracy Legacy
On January 26, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm, artist Jun Terra will lead an interactive shadow puppet workshop in CSM room A002. This session will integrate shadow puppetry with movement and dance, inspired by Terra's Red Shadow Puppet Theatre, showcased in Artists for Democracy exhibitions. Original members of the London-based collective, which operated from 1974 to 1977, will join invited guests to reflect on the group's internationalist legacy influenced by solidarity movements in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Organized by Afterall Research Centre and MRes Art: Exhibition Studies, the workshop invites participants of all ages to bring stories they wish to explore through shadow puppetry, aiming to delve into the radical legacies of this artist-led initiative.
