Jun Matcha Club: A Contemplative Matcha Café in a Former Garage in Jakarta
In South Jakarta's Panglima Polim area, Jun Matcha Club, a creation of Matter of Something, has officially opened its doors. This 33-square-meter café, which was previously a garage, caters to the increasing demand for independent coffee shops in the vicinity. Miwa Negoro curated the space, highlighting the art of matcha preparation through local materials and Indonesian craftsmanship. The architectural team, led by Steven Sundjaja and Kamilah Aisyi, included Safina Pratiwi and Alfath Alvaran. Finished in 2026, the project was executed by general contractor PT. Niha Creative and Innovation, with lighting design by Hello Good Nite. Local suppliers such as Anjati and Banana Paper contributed, while Kafin Noe'man Studio captured the essence of Jakarta's adaptive reuse trend in café culture.
