Julie Sisk, who has overseen the American Pavilion at Cannes for almost 40 years, has introduced Take2Film, a service that provides tailored travel experiences to prominent film festivals such as Cannes, Venice, London, and San Sebastián, with possible expansions to Marrakech, Busan, and the Independent Spirit Awards. The bespoke offerings include airport pickups, hotel transfers, help with accreditation, film selection advice, meetings with critics, welcome cocktails, farewell dinners, and additional cultural activities. Sisk stresses that this initiative focuses on access rather than tourism, leveraging her industry connections. Typical experiences last 7 nights and 8 days, costing approximately $7,000, depending on the destination and level of customization. An upcoming section, In Development, aims to link participants with filmmakers and producers. Sisk also points out the Venice Immersive initiative, emphasizing the exclusivity of immersive experiences due to their unstable distribution, and aims to clarify festival ecosystems for non-industry audiences, turning audiovisual consumption into shared experiences.
