Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton’s New Children’s Book “Shy” Tells the Tale of a Singing Poodle
Julie Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, have unveiled their 35th collaborative children’s book titled “Shy,” which draws inspiration from Andrews’s poodle of the same name. Illustrated by Eva Byrne, the narrative follows a timid shelter dog adopted by a bashful pianist performing at Carnegie Hall. The book is dedicated “to all the dogs we’ve ever loved.” In a Vogue interview, they recounted stories about their pets, including Andrews's childhood corgis, a toy poodle named Q-Tip, and a Great Dane from her husband Blake Edwards’s family. Andrews’s first poodle, Shy, journeyed to America for “Camelot.” Currently, Andrews has a Moyen poodle named Barney, while Walton Hamilton owns a Goldendoodle named Harry and a mini Bernedoodle named Lola. The book is now available.
