Juliana Gontijo Presents Works at Galeria Murilo Castro and MAMAM-PE

Juliana Gontijo, a 33-year-old artist from Belo Horizonte, is presenting two solo exhibitions. At Galeria Murilo Castro in Belo Horizonte, her show 'Risco' features paintings exploring territorial borders and cartographic lines, informed by a journey to Acre where she visited indigenous spaces. The exhibition closed on April 27. Concurrently, her exhibition 'O Tempo é Implacável,' curated by Wagner Nardy, opens at the Museu de Arte Moderna Aloísio Magalhães (MAMAM) in Recife on April 25 at 7 PM. Gontijo's work integrates geography and art, focusing on landscape, territory, and the body. Her process involves writing reflections in pencil on canvas, derived from excerpts she collects on paper strips. The artist, who chose art over geography in university, maintains a deep connection to geographical sciences in her research.
