Julian Schnabel and Willem Dafoe receive Mimmo Rotella Prize at Peggy Guggenheim Collection

In celebration of Mimmo Rotella's 100th birthday, the 18th Premio Mimmo Rotella was presented to director Julian Schnabel and actor Willem Dafoe for their contributions to the film 'At Eternity's Gate', featured in the Official Selection of the 75th Venice International Film Festival. The award ceremony occurred at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, where Aghnessa Rotella, the artist's daughter and president of the Fondazione Mimmo Rotella, commended Schnabel and Dafoe for their exceptional cinematic interpretations, reflecting her father's passion for the art form. The prize acknowledges the film’s visual and historical significance, resonating with Rotella's décollage style. Gianvito Casadonte, the artistic director, emphasized the lasting connection between cinema and art. Previous winners include notable figures like George Clooney and Al Pacino.
