Julian Rosefeldt's 'Manifesto' Opens XNL Aperto 2025 in Piacenza
Julian Rosefeldt's video installation 'Manifesto' is on view at XNL Arte Piacenza until November 25, 2025, curated by Paola Nicolin. The 13-channel work, first shown in 2015 at ACMI Melbourne, features Cate Blanchett performing as 13 characters reciting collaged 20th-century artistic manifestos. The exhibition inaugurates XNL Aperto 2025, the fourth edition of the citywide festival running September 19–21, 2025. Participating venues include Biffi Arte, Montrasio Arte (focusing on Leonardo Cremonini), Spazio BFT (Gabriele Basilico photographs), UNA Galleria (Alfredo Aceto and Raphael Danke), Volumnia (Masbedo duo), and spazio Rathaus. The Ducato Prize is hosted at Palazzo Farnese, and The Shit Museum presents a new site-specific work by Fabio Roncato. New participants include Palazzo Zeni Fiorani, Spazio Rosso Tiziano, Atelier Valerio Saltarelli Savi, and the William Xerra Archive. On September 21, architect Mario Cucinella will speak at Galleria d'Arte Moderna Ricci Oddi on sustainability and cultural production. Roberto Reggi, president of Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano, emphasized the festival's role in networking local contemporary art venues.
