Julia Stoschek Collection presents dual solo shows by Meriem Bennani and Jeremy Shaw in Berlin

The Julia Stoschek Collection in Berlin is hosting a double solo exhibition featuring the first German solo show of Meriem Bennani and a retrospective of Jeremy Shaw. Bennani's eight-channel video installation 'Party on the Caps' (2018) imagines a dystopian island in the Atlantic where undocumented immigrants are detained by the US government, developing a hybrid culture with advanced digital technology and cyborg presences. Shaw's 'Quantification Trilogy' comprises three short films—'Quickeners' (2014), 'Liminals' (2017), and 'I Can See Forever' (2018)—exploring altered states, psychedelic experiences, and the intersection of science and mysticism. The exhibition also includes Shaw's photographic series 'Towards Universal Pattern Recognition' (2016–2020), featuring prismatic lenses that distort perception. Both artists examine marginalized communities and cultural stereotypes through futuristic and speculative lenses. The show runs until November 29, 2020 at Leipziger Straße 60.
