institutional · 2026-04-27

Judith Waldmann, born in Tübingen in 1985, is leaving her position as curator of contemporary art exhibitions at Kunsthaus Merano after two years. She was appointed in December 2020 and will take on the same role at Museum Schloss Moyland in Bedburg-Hau, Germany. During her tenure, she curated three exhibitions: "The Poetry of Translation" (2021-2022), "TOGETHER. Interact – Interplay – Interfere" (2022), and "Turning Pain Into Power" (through January 29, 2023). Her programming focused on connecting international and local artists, addressing social and anti-discriminatory themes. Waldmann expressed gratitude to the Kunst Meran team, including director Martina Oberprantacher, Ursula Schnitzer, Anna Zinelli, president Georg Klotzner, and the board. Oberprantacher praised Waldmann's ability to link global issues with the South Tyrolean context and her selection of intelligent, aesthetically engaging works. The search for a new curator is now underway.
