Judith Carlton Named New Director of CGP London, Replacing Ron Henocq After 30 Years

institutional · 2026-04-20

Judith Carlton will become the new director of CGP London in April 2015, succeeding founding director Ron Henocq who departs after three decades. Henocq is leaving at the end of March to focus on new endeavors. Carlton currently serves as assistant director at Matt's Gallery in London, a non-profit organization. Her previous experience includes roles as gallery manager at Cubitt Gallery and Studios in London, and positions at the Serpentine Galleries in London and Hatton Gallery in Newcastle. Established in 1984 by the Bermondsey Artists' Group, CGP London is a publicly funded organization. It operates two exhibition spaces in Southwark Park, Bermondsey: the modernist Café Gallery and Dilston Grove, a converted poured-concrete church. The organization's leadership transition marks a significant change following Henocq's long tenure.
