JR's Outposts Exhibition Opens Perrotin's New London Space

exhibition · 2026-04-20

Perrotin launched its new London gallery on Brook Mews with JR's exhibition Outposts, running from March 14 to May 3. The show features two recent projects: Déplacé·e·s and Children of Ouranos. Déplacé·e·s involves aerial photographs of giant banners depicting children in refugee settings across Ukraine, Rwanda, Mauritania, Greece, and Colombia. Children of Ouranos presents white silhouettes on black-painted wood panels, exploring visibility and invisibility. ArtReview Editor-in-Chief Mark Rappolt interviewed JR about his artistic evolution from street to gallery, art's relationship to carceral systems, and future directions. The exhibition marks the gallery's 2025 programming debut in London.
