JR's Inside Out installation brings 4,000 portraits to Palermo's Piazza del Parlamento

At the Piazza del Parlamento and Palazzo dei Normanni in Palermo, JR's Inside Out initiative, titled "Restiamo Umani" (Let's Stay Human), showcases over 4,000 photographic portraits in a 100x140cm format across a sprawling 5,000 square meters. This exhibition aligns with the Sky Arte festival and is organized by ArtsFor_ in partnership with Fondazione Federico II, the Sicilian Regional Assembly, and the Regional Department of Cultural Heritage. JR, who was born in Paris in 1983, initiated Inside Out in 2011 after receiving the TED Prize. The project, which explores themes such as hope, diversity, and climate change, has involved 260,000 individuals in 129 nations. A public presentation on October 11 will include performances by artists like Mario Venuti and Lello Analfino.
