Born in 1942, Joy de Rohan Chabot, represented by Galerie Chastel-Maréchal, has experienced an increase in her market value following the release of a recent monograph. Residing in Auvergne, she transforms forms from nature into a unique style for items such as chairs, mirrors, lamps, and small tables, utilizing materials like wood, metal, and glass. Her Chaise Pensée, which draws inspiration from the morphology of flowers, sold for €21,600 at Sotheby's Paris in 2023, while a pair of gilded bronze chairs brought in €11,400 at Sotheby's in 2024. Additional creations include La Promenade de mai, distinctive candelabras, and a bronze low table. Chabot asserts, "I am an artist, not a designer," highlighting her dedication to sculpture rather than functionality.
