Journées du Patrimoine 2026: Southern France's Heritage Highlights from Grasse to Vallauris

On September 19 and 20, 2026, the Journées du Patrimoine will showcase various monuments across southern France. In Grasse, visitors can enjoy complimentary guided tours at Domaine de la Rose Lancôme at 9h, 10h30, 12h, 14h30, and 16h. The Abbaye de La Celle will open its cloister and gardens, offering a treasure hunt. Marseille's Mucem conservation center will exhibit items saved from wartime. Menton's Bastion, transformed by Jean Cocteau, is accessible for free. Montpellier’s Musée Fabre will allow free entry to its collections. Agde's Château Laurens will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a week-long program from September 15 to 20 and an exhibition running until November 1, 2026. Tours will also be available at Nîmes' Maison Carrée and arenas. Roqueredonde's Lérab Ling temple will host meditation sessions for 6€. Perpignan's Musée d'art Hyacinthe Rigaud will display Picasso's summer residence, while Sérignan's MRAC will present an AI exhibition, and Vallauris Golfe-Juan's Château-musée will feature two panels by Picasso. Many activities will require free reservations.
