Joshua Oppenheimer's 'The Look of Silence' Airs on Sky Arte HD

Joshua Oppenheimer's documentary 'The Look of Silence' premieres exclusively on Sky Arte HD on Friday, June 3, 2016. The film, nominated for an Oscar in 2016 and winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 71st Venice Film Festival, investigates the 1965-1966 Indonesian mass killings under General Suharto, where paramilitary groups massacred over one million people. The documentary follows Adi, born in 1968, who never knew his brother—mutilated and killed by members of the Komando Aksi in the Silk River massacre. Oppenheimer accompanies Adi to confront the perpetrators. The film is a companion to 'The Act of Killing' (2012), which featured executioners Congo and Adi Zulkadry reenacting their crimes.
