Joseph Dadoune's 'Universes' at Galerie Martine Aboucaya
In January 2007, Galerie Martine Aboucaya introduced its project room with the premiere of Joseph Dadoune's 'Universes', a film from 2004 that was screened in Paris for the first time. This sixty-minute piece, crafted from large-format images, delves into arid landscapes inhabited by figures drawn from Dadoune's personal mythology, intertwining elements of Kabbalah, cinema, and art history. The depicted landscapes mirror the artist's life journey, tracing his upbringing in Paris to his theological studies in Israel. Additionally, 'Zion', featuring actress Ronit Elkabetz, was performed at the Louvre on September 29, 2005. In January 2006, Dadoune showcased a video installation titled 'Chanti' at Le Plateau, while 'Bunker Buster' was exhibited at Track7 Art Space in Athens until March 26, 2007.
