Josef and Anni Albers: A Tactile Exhibition for All Abilities in Siena

exhibition · 2026-05-05

From April 6, 2018, the Santa Maria della Scala in Siena will present 'Voyage Inside a Blind Experience,' an initiative aimed at both sighted and visually impaired guests. This project, spearheaded by Atlante Servizi Culturali, is the result of a three-year collaboration with several partners, including the Istituto dei Ciechi di Milano, The Glucksman at University College Cork, the Vasko Lipovac Museum in Split, and The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation. Supported by the EU's Creative Europe 2014-2020 program, the exhibition showcases five original tactile pieces by Josef and Anni Albers, along with twelve resin replicas. It features a tactile exploration corridor, an automated audio guide, and braille catalogues. Following its run in Siena, the exhibition will move to Cork and Zagreb.
