José Wolff's 'Días Hondos' at Casa Guardabarranco Blends Digital and Traditional Art

Guatemalan artist José Wolff presented the exhibition 'Días Hondos' at Casa Guardabarranco in Guatemala City, running until April 22, 2026. The show, curated by Christina Chirouze Montenegro, emerged from a one-month residency in February 2026. Wolff, who studied at SCAD in Georgia and worked for MTV Latino, NBC, and Locomotion, combines digital media with oil painting. The exhibition features multi-channel video installations like 'Sin Novedad' and 'Desvanecerse,' alongside acrylic paintings and geometric projections. A sound composition by Karin Azurdia accompanies the final piece. The house, designed by architect Álvaro Véliz for owners Daniela Ruiz and Rodrigo Asturias, overlooks a ravine in Guatemala City. Wolff's work critiques information saturation and geopolitical violence, offering a space for sensory reset.
