José Quintanilla's 'El jardín revelado' at CentroCentro Explores Photography's Limits

exhibition · 2026-05-28

At CentroCentro's Patio de Operaciones, José Quintanilla's installation 'El jardín revelado' will be showcased until June 28, 2026, as part of the EPICENTRO initiative and PHotoESPAÑA 2026. This piece draws inspiration from Impressionism, especially Monet, and is a continuation of Quintanilla's 'Giverny 2.Ø' project, conceived during his 2023 residency in Paris. The installation transforms photography into a sensory journey, emphasizing color and perception. This marks the third intervention in the EPICENTRO series, following works by Iván Argüello and María Oriza. Future participants include Isabel Gómez Liebre in June and Carlos Cartaxo in September. Quintanilla will conduct workshops on June 19–20. Born in Yecla in 1963, he has been actively exhibiting since 2015, focusing on landscape, memory, and environmental issues.
