José Luis Tejedor's Photographic Project 'Tránsito Feria de Jerez' Captures Collective Energy at Sala Pescadería Vieja

José Luis Tejedor presents 'Tránsito Feria de Jerez,' a photographic investigation unfolding from April 17 to May 16, 2026, at Sala Pescadería Vieja in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz. Curated by Laura Darriba and Óscar García García, the project transforms the Jerez Fair into a visual exploration of inhabited spaces, deliberately moving away from static photography to capture collective experience. Tejedor's images, created through the overlay of multiple individual captures taken over time, blur individual identities to emphasize group dynamics and fleeting presences. The resulting photographs convey movement, atmosphere, and almost audible bustle, with light, color, and motion merging into a deeply pictorial texture that approaches abstraction. Local artist Willie Márquez contributes a small collaborative intervention, adding a poetic layer through expressive calligraphy that extends the themes of transit and trace. The work focuses on the people who inhabit and give meaning to places, with ethereal figures appearing in constant motion among horses, flowers, dances, and joy. Rather than documenting the event, the project celebrates the shared energy where art, culture, and tradition intertwine, creating a hypnotic, slow-paced collective choreography that exists momentarily in time.
