Josè Angelino's 'Resistenze' at Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Josè Angelino (born 1977 in Ragusa) presents 'Resistenze', a site-specific project at Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto, running until September 26, 2021. The exhibition explores physical phenomena like turbulence, complexity, and relativity through mimetic interventions in the Piano Nobile rooms. Angelino uses light, vibrations, temperature, and electromagnetism as narrative devices with humanist undertones. Works include 'Lipari', an installation of pumice stones with moving magnets; 'Roma by led', a video documenting the gradual failure of LED street lamps; and pieces featuring argon and neon gases. The exhibition is accompanied by a display of drawings by Giuseppe Penone and the group show 'Windows' curated by Teodora di Robilant in collaboration with Galleria Alessandra Bonomo at Chiostro di San Nicolò, a venue that previously hosted '420 West Broadway' in 1972 with artists from Leo Castelli, André Emmerich, Ileana Sonnabend, and John Weber, and Sol LeWitt's first public work 'Wall Drawing #136' in Spoleto.
