Jordi Colomer Retrospective at Jeu de Paume Explores Architectural Illusions

exhibition · 2026-04-23

On October 21, 2008, the Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume in Paris will unveil a retrospective dedicated to Jordi Colomer, a Catalan video artist and photographer. The display will showcase approximately ten pieces, highlighting the film series Anarchitekton (2002-2004) alongside three newer works: Pozo almonte (2008), En la pampa (2008), and Babelkamer (2007). Pozo almonte features 33 images capturing tombs located in a cemetery within the Chilean desert. Colomer crafts prototypes that replicate mausoleums, creating illusions that question perception. En la pampa presents a road movie set in the Atacama Desert, while Babelkamer centers on a dialogue in sign language. This exhibition will be open until January 4, 2009.
