Jordan has selected Cherien Dabis' film 'All That Remains of You' (Tutto quello che resta di te) as its entry for the 2026 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature category. The film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, follows a Palestinian teenager joining protests against Israeli soldiers in the West Bank in 1988, but expands to chronicle three generations of a family over 80 years of Palestinian history. Dabis, who both directs and stars as the mother, describes the film as deeply personal rather than political, aiming to spark conversation about recognizing suffering. The cast includes Saleh Bakri as the patriarch, alongside Adam Bakri, Mohammad Bakri, and Maria Zreik. The film emphasizes the role of education, with a teacher character urging students to use imagination and poetry. It will be released in Italian cinemas by Officine UBU on September 18, 2025, with additional screenings planned for secondary schools.
