Jonslunds Skola: A Rural School Rooted in History by D Office arkitekter

architecture-design · 2026-04-25

D Office arkitekter has completed Jonslunds Skola, a 4,600 m² rural school in Sweden, set to open in 2026. The project transforms local history into contemporary architecture, drawing on a landscape inhabited for thousands of years. Lead architects Lars Olausson, Ann Dalberg, and Joanna Urbanska led the design team, with project management by Essunga Kommun. Landscape architecture was handled by Adwice, while engineering and consulting involved HBK (structural), Vcon (MEP), Vinnergi (electrical), FSD and Liljewall Arkitekter (other), and Norconsult (acoustic). Photographs by Alicia Sundell document the project.
