Jonathas de Andrade: L'art de ne pas être vorace at Commanderie de Peyrassol

In Provence, the Commanderie de Peyrassol is hosting a solo exhibition by Brazilian artist Jonathas de Andrade (born in Maceió, 1982), curated by Mathilde Marchand, as part of the Brazil-France 2025 cultural season. Titled "L'art de ne pas être vorace," the exhibition will be on display until November 2, 2025, showcasing six significant pieces, including two new works that explore themes of voracity concerning humans, animals, and nature. Among the highlighted pieces are "O Peixe" (2015-2016) and "Nó na garganta" (2022). Andrade represented Brazil at the 2022 Venice Biennale and has upcoming projects, including a show at Jeu de Paume in June and participation in the São Paulo Biennial. Established in 1204, the Commanderie spans 850 hectares and boasts a varied art collection.
