Jonathan Prince and Stephanie Manasseh open Maison Berkshire in Brussels

Jonathan Prince, an American sculptor with a background in surgery and film, and Stephanie Manasseh, a Canadian curator educated at McGill University, Sotheby’s Institute, and Goldsmiths, University of London, have established two multidisciplinary spaces in the US and Belgium. In 2020, they transformed a former dairy farm in the Massachusetts hills into Berkshire House, a 1,850-square-meter artistic laboratory where Prince works with materials like stainless steel, CorTen, and granite. The space also hosts site-specific installations, a permanent wall drawing by Sol LeWitt, and experiential dinners with international chefs. In 2024, they expanded to Europe with Maison Berkshire in Brussels, directed by Manasseh, which offers an exhibition program focused on European art, design, and public engagement through curated shows, artist talks, and collaborative events. The couple describes their model as a living laboratory in the spirit of Bauhaus and Black Mountain College, where art, design, and gastronomy converge.
