Jonathan Anderson Appointed Creative Director of Dior

Jonathan Anderson has been named creative director of all Dior lines—men's, women's, haute couture, and accessories—a historic first for the maison, which previously always had separate designers for men's and women's wear. The appointment was announced on June 2, 2025, following months of speculation. Anderson left Loewe after 11 years as creative director, a role he held since 2016. He founded his own label JW Anderson in 2008 and studied men's fashion at London College of Fashion. Born in Northern Ireland in 1984, he began his career at the Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C., where he developed an interest in costume design. He has also worked as a costume designer for Luca Guadagnino films, including Challengers and Queer, and won multiple awards, including Fashion Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. Delphine Arnault, President and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, called him "the most talented fashion designer of his generation." The announcement followed the departure of Maria Grazia Chiuri after nine years. Anderson's first show for Dior Men will debut on June 27, 2025, during Paris Fashion Week Men's; his women's debut is expected in September 2025, and haute couture in January 2026.
