Jon Campbell's Word Art Survey at Geelong Gallery

From 28 February to 24 May 2026, Geelong Gallery in Victoria will present a comprehensive exhibition of works by Melbourne artist Jon Campbell, named 'yEAH / dUNNO.' This showcase, which spans four decades, features a variety of mediums, including drawings, paintings, flags, neon lights, tea towels, and songs. Campbell is recognized for transforming words and phrases into visual art, reflecting elements of popular culture that are both experienced and observed. His work delves into the intricate nature of contemporary Australian language, favoring a celebration of the mundane over overt nationalism. The exhibition will include site-specific installations and notable pieces from the 1980s onward, including the 2022 acrylic artwork 'Dodgy' highlighted in promotional materials.
