JOJOWORKSHOP designs Achime Bagel in Seoul with bagel-inspired furniture and open kitchen

architecture-design · 2026-07-28

JOJOWORKSHOP has designed Achime Bagel, a bakery in Munjeong-dong, Seoul, featuring an open kitchen that exposes the daily bread-making process. The interior uses a restrained palette of white surfaces, timber, stainless steel, green tiles, and red accents. Custom furniture includes the Achime Pickup Wall, which resembles piled bagels and is movable, and a circular timber handle at the entrance with a diameter of 180 millimeters that recalls a bagel shape. The Achime Sign Board is inspired by an unrolled message. All furniture is custom-made to fit the compact space, supporting the bakery's daily routine. The project emphasizes freshness, movement, warmth, and care through the relationship between work, material, and space. Photographs are by Kim Donggyu.
