John Tain to Curate Third Lahore Biennale on Ecology

John Tain, who heads research at the Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong, will be the curator for the third Lahore Biennale set to take place in February 2025. This exhibition will focus on important themes like ecology and sustainable futures, highlighting issues such as recent floods, agricultural challenges, urban pollution, and social inequality in Pakistan. It marks the first biennale since the last one in 2020, which was curated by Emirati Hoor Al Qasimi just before the COVID-19 outbreak. Tain has an impressive background, having curated modern and contemporary collections at the Getty Research Institute from 2007 to 2017, and he has worked on significant projects like Crafting Communities (2020) and In Focus: Ed Ruscha (2013). The Asia Art Archive holds 120,000 art-historical records from across Asia.
