John Stezaker to Host Afterall Film Club Screening

other · 2026-04-22

On Thursday, October 25, 2012, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, John Stezaker, the winner of the 2012 Deutsche Börse Photography Prize, will showcase a film he has chosen during the fourth session of the Afterall Film Club. This gathering is set to take place in the new building at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in King’s Cross, London, and will include a discussion after the screening. Stezaker is known for his distinctive artwork that blends images from books, magazines, and postcards, which he refers to as a 'dedication to fascination' with how images can exist independently through their obsolescence. The club, which is free and held three times a term, has also hosted notable figures like Laura Mulvey and Mark Leckey. The next event on December 6 will feature Nina Power. To reserve a spot, you can email filmclub@afterall.org. This initiative is a collaboration between Afterall and Double Agents, with support from the Central Saint Martins Research group focusing on moving image practices.
