John Roebas's 'Paid Position (The Compromise of Grief)' at Tile Project Space, Milan

John Roebas (born 1985 in Tegucigalpa, lives in New York) presents 'Paid Position (The Compromise of Grief)' at Tile Project Space in Milan, on view until December 18, 2016. The exhibition features photographs with thick metal frames and passe-partout, set against black velvet, with colors faded from flowers and memories. Lights outside the space invade ceramic coverings between floor and walls, creating an invisible fluid connecting elements. The work avoids documentary representation, instead projecting a suspension of narrative filtered through memory.
