John Gosling curates 'Unnatural Harmony' celebrating McQueen's soundtracks at Southbank Centre
John Gosling, McQueen's long-time music director, has created 'Unnatural Harmony: Sounds of Lee Alexander McQueen' with Robert Ames of the London Contemporary Orchestra. The show premieres at Southbank Centre's Multitudes festival on 29-30 April 2026. It features 17 pieces including John Williams' 'Schindler's List' theme (used for Kate Moss's hologram at 'The Widows of Culloden' in 2006) and Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' (from 'Plato's Atlantis' 2009). The performance partners LCO with choreographer Holly Blakey, directed by Elayce Ismail, with a new film by Douglas Hart and Eddie Whelan featuring dancer Michael Clark. Gosling and McQueen first collaborated on the 'Dante' show in 1996. The repertoire includes tracks by The Rolling Stones, Mozart, Armand van Helden, Björk, and Philip Glass. Katy England contributed to ensure authenticity.
