John D Edwards, Painter and Sculptor, Dies at 74

At the age of 74, John David Edwards, a British artist celebrated for his community art initiatives and the book 'How Cancer Saved My Life', passed away due to heart disease. He was born in Hillingdon and received his education at Abbotsfield School for Boys and Harrow School of Art, ultimately graduating from Central School of Arts (1971-74). Edwards collaborated with artists at Waddington Gallery and showcased his work in major cities including London, New York, Chicago, and Tokyo. Following his cancer diagnosis in 1996, he created healing artworks that appeared in his 2007 publication. He married Susie Fairgrieve in 1991, but they divorced the following year. In 2008, he initiated 'The Never Ending Mural' in Ipswich. He is survived by his four sisters: Su, Gillie, Jude, and Marion.
