digital · 2026-05-18

The John Chamberlain Estate is launching ON THE COUCH, a biweekly filmed interview series hosted by estate director Alexandra Fairweather. The series honors cultural visionaries and will debut on May 19 across major streaming platforms. Season one features eight guests including artist Daniel Arsham, architect Annabelle Selldorf, fashion designer Alexander Wang, interior designer Sasha Bikoff, entrepreneur Jon Gray, and painter David Salle. Each 35- to 55-minute episode is filmed at the estate's new private museum on Shelter Island, where guests sit on Chamberlain's foam couches. The series coincides with what would have been Chamberlain's 100th birthday. Chamberlain is known for scrap metal sculptures and foam couches, the first of which he made for Donald Judd. Episodes will cover topics such as navigating art commerce, AI, and fashion. Season two will film over summer and air in autumn.
