Jochen Volz Appointed Curator for 2016 São Paulo Bienal

Jochen Volz, a German art historian, will curate the 32nd São Paulo Bienal in 2016. He currently leads programmes at the Serpentine Galleries in London and serves as a curator at Inhotim in Minas Gerais. Previously, from 2005 to 2012, he was the artistic director of Inhotim. In 2006, invited by Lisette Lagnado, he contributed to the curatorship of the 27th Bienal de São Paulo, executing a special project honoring Marcel Broodthaers. The most recent edition, which concluded two weeks ago, was curated by a collective under Charles Esche. This announcement was made on 10 December 2014.
