Jocelyne Alloucherie's Photographic Installations at MuMa Le Havre
At MuMa – Musée d'art moderne André Malraux in Le Havre, from March 17 to May 7, 2012, Jocelyne Alloucherie presented multiple series and installations exploring the impact of new imaging technologies on photography, particularly the scanner. The exhibition includes series such as Terre de sable, Terre de neige (some pieces also shown at Galerie Françoise Paviot in Paris), Poudreuses, and Lames. The work challenges the very notion of the photographic medium through large-format drawings and mixed digital prints depicting sandstorms, boreal visions, and dust clouds, creating immersive black-and-white spaces that activate the viewer's imagination. These images are supported by white architectural elements placed slightly off-kilter in the museum's nave, functioning as empty frames. The installation becomes a cinematic device where 'digital photograms' implode with grains of multiple origins, engaging the viewer in an open work that conjures fictional landscapes and spatial representation.
