Joanna Kamm Directs LISTE Art Fair with Focus on Emerging Galleries and Global Diversity

In September 2018, Joanna Kamm was appointed as the director of LISTE Art Fair, which takes place in Basel and highlights contemporary art alongside new galleries. Established in 1996, the fair has had E.Gutzwiller & Cie, Banquiers as its primary partner since 1997. Kamm underscores LISTE's commitment to showcasing emerging galleries, with 33 participating in 2019, including newcomers Sandwich and Sweetwater. Among the 21 debuting galleries are A Thousand Plateaus Art Space, Dastan’s Basement, LC Queisser, Piedras, ROH Projects, and Sariev Contemporary. She also launched The Joinery performance initiative and streamlined the exhibition layout. The Spike Forum hosts discussions featuring artists and industry figures. Kamm reflects on her initial LISTE experience, encouraging new galleries to develop steadily, while a more international selection committee operates under her leadership.
