Jisbar's Secret Chapel Show in St. Mark's Square

exhibition · 2026-04-27

French pop-street artist Jisbar (Jean-Baptiste Launay, b. 1989) recently held a solo exhibition in the Secret Chapel of San Marco in Venice, exceptionally opened for the occasion. The project was spearheaded by Sara Sist, who renovated the chapel into a full-fledged exhibition space. Jisbar, who lives between Paris and Amsterdam, has shown in San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Venice, Lausanne, Singapore, and Australia Gold Coast. His works are in collections of museums such as Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi and the National Museum of the History of Immigration in Paris. He has collaborated with brands like JM Weston, Armani, and BMW. His mixed-media pieces blend famous artworks with pop-street codes, incorporating words, phrases, and numbers to create new narratives. He describes each piece as a 'moment of life.' Upcoming projects include shows in Bangkok and San Francisco, a collaboration with a French winemaker, and possible work with Ducati. He aims to expand into sculpture and work with major brands.
