Jimmy Choo Commissions Sculpture by Shaikha Al Mazrou for Dubai Flagship Store

Last autumn, Jimmy Choo introduced its inaugural commissioned piece, 'Symmetrical Repeats,' a striking red-steel sculpture created by Emirati artist Shaikha Al Mazrou, at the Lawrie Shabibi gallery in Dubai. The event featured a panel discussion with Al Mazrou, Sandra Choi, the creative director of Jimmy Choo, and William Lawrie, co-founder of the gallery, with writer Maán Jalal serving as the moderator. This artwork, which draws inspiration from Jimmy Choo's Diamond motif, delves into themes of folds and materiality, and is now displayed in the brand's flagship store located at The Dubai Mall. This initiative signifies a new artistic direction for Jimmy Choo, which has previously engaged with artists in photography and design. Established in 1996 by Jimmy Choo and Tamara Mellon, the brand is currently headed by CEO Hannah Colman.
