Jessica Stockholder curates Cut a rug a round square at OGR Turin

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Jessica Stockholder (Seattle, 1959) curated the group exhibition Cut a rug a round square at OGR Turin's Binario 1, opening February 11, 2021, free to visit subject to COVID-19 restrictions. The exhibition features works from the Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT (on permanent loan to GAM and Castello di Rivoli), the Fondazione "la Caixa" in Barcelona, and Chicago, where Stockholder lives. Stockholder, whose works are in the Whitney Museum of American Art, Art Institute of Chicago, British Museum, and Stedelijk Museum, designed the show with an international scope and phygital extras accessible remotely. OGR president Fulvio Gianaria emphasized the space's unique atmosphere. Artists include Vito Acconci, Aurelio Amendola, Monica Bonvicini, Lawrence Weiner, Edward Ruscha, and Diego Perrone, united by geometric exploration. The installation itself becomes a large artwork reflecting on circles and squares, referencing Ingrid Riedel's color therapy studies. The Transliteral Shop offers related publications, and a Spotify playlist accompanies visitors.
