Jessica Lichtenstein's first solo museum show at MAD transforms gallery into digital forest

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) in New York will host Jessica Lichtenstein: Rewilding, the artist's first solo museum exhibition, from May 30, 2026, to April 18, 2027. Lichtenstein, who is based in New York and Wyoming, will transform the third-floor gallery into an immersive installation featuring thousands of digitally rendered female nudes that form forests, ruins, and flowering canopies. The exhibition merges opulent materials with technological precision to reclaim the female body from art historical erotic conventions, situating it within a speculative landscape of autonomy and collectivity. The title Rewilding references a conservation ecology concept about restoring natural processes by reducing human intervention, serving as a metaphor for liberty and release.
