Jerzy Ludwiński's Writings on Polish Conceptualism Published in English

In 2007, Van Abbemuseum and Veenman Publishers released 'Notes from the Future of Art: Selected Writings by Jerzy Ludwiński', edited by Magdalena Ziółkowska. This 240-page anthology showcases the work of Jerzy Ludwiński (1930-2000), a Polish curator and art theorist whose influential ideas developed in Wrocław from the 1960s to the 1980s. He attended the Catholic University of Lublin from 1953 to 1955 and was a member of the 'Zamek' Group, which challenged modernist conventions between 1957 and 1960. Ludwiński established the Mona Lisa Gallery (1967-1970) and contributed theoretical writings to Odra. Significant moments include the 1st Symposium of Artists and Scientists (1966) and his 1970 essay 'Art in the Postartistic Age'. The collection includes institutional proposals and a Counter-Dictionary by Luiza Nader, emphasizing the local essence of Polish conceptualism.
