Jérôme Poret's Sonic Installations Bridge Manga and Sound
Jérôme Poret's first solo exhibition in Paris, titled 'Suspension', uses manga-inspired graphic notation to visualize sound. At Galerie Frédéric Giroux, he suspends an aluminum blade with speakers, creating a directional high-frequency sound field, while bass cabinets eliminate mid-frequencies. His 'sonicdrawning' transforms a wall into a visually vibrating surface. At Galerie du Rutebeuf in Clichy, a video documents a vinyl record being cut, linking the machine's sound to the image's texture. The exhibition runs through December 2010.
